Mary Ann, (Annie) wife of Patrick McElroy with two children looking out the half door.
Anne nee Corrigan from Ballyscally died in 1953.
Annie is washing clothes outside in a large tub having scrubbed them on the washboard visible to the left of the door.
The reeds/canes called “currag”, at the side of the door were propped against the door at night to block cold air coming through.
Annie and Patrick had a son called Patrick, known as Packie Edward who went to the US for a few years.
Packie Edward married Mamie and they had 10 children Patrick, James, John, Eddie, Maureen, twins, Eugene and Kevin, John, Tommy and Josephine and lived in Corleaghan just off “the horse shoe road”.
