Possibly one of the most instantly recognised and most used of Rose Shaws photos. This is believed to be a photo of Catherine (Cassie) McCaughey (nee McCarron possibly from Lisbane Clogher.
Her home before marriage was across the old Monaghan rd called “The Footsticks” , known locally as the route taken for people from ballymacann/corleaghan way to walk to mass in “The Forth Chapel” mentioned in other Rose Shaw pictures.) at her home near Corrakibberet, Ballymcann.
Seen here holding a creel of turf. Again as is common in Rose Shaw photos the lady is in bare feet.
